Companies not getting in touch after interviews

12 10 2007

Recently (over the last 2 months) I’ve been for some interviews with 6 different companies. After taking a day off work and then getting ready and driving to these interviews, being grilled about myself, my work and then listening to long winded explanations about the history of the company I’m applying for a job with. I don’t think it’s asking too much for a politely worded letter, email, text, phone call or even a carrier pigeon message about how the interview went. I don’t mind if I haven’t got the job, it would just be nice for a company to respond in some way with some feedback. It really annoys me that they don’t, it’s rude, not particularly professional and I find it very offensive. One bloke even went to great pains to explain to me that they only employ ‘nice’ people, but apparently not polite ones. People have even promised to contact me the next week and then not. I wonder if other people have had the same experience. After I emailed a couple for feedback I did get 2 quite nicely worded responses. But I should I have had to ask first? Any way end of moan. :)
