For those not in the know, this is a video game magazine that covers all formats (Nintendo, Microsoft, Playstation, PC…). This is also one of the only magazines that prides itself on being impartial in its reviews and occasionally gets itself into hot water with some of the more hard core gamers (read young hot heads of about 14) because in their opinion it under scores their favourite games and doesn’t go with the popular vote.

I like Edge, it’s intelligently written by people well versed in their subject matter, more than that they revel and enjoy video games with a passion which is what makes the writing so good. I’ve been a gamer since I was about 28 (I know I started a little late in life) and I brought a Playstation, the 3D aspect of it although rough captured my attention and I’ve enjoyed video games ever since. Through the years Edge has always been there for me with its top notch advice as to which games were worth my time and it has ever hardly steered me wrong. It incorporates a scoring system out of 10, 5 being an average game, anything 7 and above being worth the effort, and the lesser spotted 10 being an all time genre defining classic.

As you may have guessed Edge is a mark of quality, like BMW or M&S and in a games market where what is top of the charts doesn’t reflex the true quality of the product Edge represents a cooling, quiet voice of reason which is to be recommended, ignore it at your peril and the disadvantage of your wallet. Without it I’d of wasted an awful lot of money over the years. :)
