Another brilliant looking film from Tim Burton, which reminded me of The Corpse Bride. The visual style is only as Burton can do, quality and an atmosphere of undiluted creepiness is in every frame. Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston in the film Derailed

Based on the best-selling novel by James Siegel (No wonder this film is so well written and scripted). It’s a real edge of your seat thriller, very much like Hitchcocks films in the past, it builds the tension throughout with some terrific plot twists, some obvious and some not so.

This film is rather like a half hour comedy sketch that’s been stretched too far. It has elements of Only When I laugh and Benny Hill. It has obviously been shot on a tight budget and they have done their best the script and the story is OK if not quite clever. Read the rest of this entry »

If you needed milk and you needed it fast you wouldn’t want it delivered strapped to the back of a one legged tortoise. If you want action and thrills delivered at a breath taking pace look elsewhere.

Robert De Niro directs and Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, William Hurt, John Turturro, Timothy Hutton, Robert De Niro, Alec Baldwin & Billy Crudup all act in this one. I use act in a very loose sense, as it’s not a very interesting film, it glugs along like a farmer wading through treacle with welly boots on. Read the rest of this entry »
